Spicy Chick Peas

Ingredients

 

 

1 can chickpeas (drain the liquid and wash chickpeas)

1 small onion chopped

2 cloves garlic and 1" piece ginger grated or chopped

1 large tomato chopped

1 tsp of tomato paste (optional)

1 tbsp oil or more if you want

1/2 tsp turmeric

1/2 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp ground corriander

1/4 to 1/2 tsp red pepper (I use 1/4 or less)

1/8 to 1/4 tsp salt

1/4-1/2 cup of water

1/2 tsp garam masala powder ( its ok to do without it use more of other ground spices)

1 tbsp chopped corriander

 

 

Instructions

 

Heat oil. Start frying onion. After 5 min. add ginger

and gralic and keep frying till the whole thing is

golder brown. add all the ground spices except garam

masala and fry for 1-2 min. Add tomato paste and

tomatoes. Mix and cover till tomatoes are soft

stirring every now and then so the mixture does not

burn. Add chickpeas and water and cook on low fire

ten minutes. The chikpeas should be soft and the gravy

shoud be semi-thick. At this point you can add garam

masala and a tbsp of chopped corriander and mix well.

Its ready to be served. Enjoy!!
